10 	A RESOLUTION CONCERNING

20 	THE ELECTRONIC GOVERNMENT INITIATIVE OF 2000



30	WHEREAS:		The Electronic Government Initiative of 2000 will institute the online 

40			availability of over eighty percent of the services of executive branch agencies; 

50			and,

 

60	WHEREAS: 		The Electronic Government Initiative of 2000, represented by House Bill 274 

70			and Senate Bill 197, will mandate this availability by the year 2004; and,



80	WHEREAS:		This initiative will also mandate the availability of non-visual electronic 

90			information for citizens with such a need; and,



100	WHEREAS:		This initiative will allow Maryland citizens the ability to access a much larger 

110			selection of services and information.



120	THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:	That the Maryland Student Legislature lauds the efforts of the 

130			legislature and administration in reference to the Electronic Government 

140 			Initiative of 2000.
