10 A RESOLUTION CONCERNING MORE AID FOR PROGRAMS TO HELP WITH 20 MENTALLY CHALLENGED CITIZENS IN THE STATE OF MARYLAND 30 WHEREAS: Mental Retardation is serious medical condition that affects children and their 40 families in the State of Maryland; and, 50 WHEREAS: Families require so much time and money to care for their mentally retarded 60 child or family member, the following occurs in their lifestyle: 70 a) Time off work 80 b) Paying Doctor Bills 90 c) Any other funds that are needed to care for the child or family 100 member 110 d) Endless emotional strain; and, 120 WHEREAS: It is the State Governments continuing responsibility to better the lives of its 130 State regardless of their race, sex, background, color, or disability. 140 THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the State Of Maryland come up with aid for new 150 programs that deal with the following: 160 a) helping families cope with the mental anguish, 170 b) providing some kind of State assistance to those who apply 180 for it who have family with mental retardation, 190 c) provide aid for a program in which doctors work more with 200 mentally retarded patents to better motor skills, etc. 210 MANDATES: Governor of Maryland, Parries Glendening 220 Lt.
