10 A RESOLUTION CONCERNING 20 ALTERING TRADE PATTERNS WITH 30 ARGENTINA AND BRAZIL 30 WHEREAS: The European Unionās economy is twenty percent larger than the 40 United Statesā economy; and, 50 WHEREAS: They are currently expanding by allowing six new nation-states to 60 enter; and, 70 WHEREAS: In order for the United States to remain the worldās leading 80 power, and to retain a competitive economy in future years; and, 90 WHEREAS: The United States will have to extend NAFTA privileges to other 100 nation-states; and, 110 WHEREAS: To increase trade with nation-states will help stabilize and bring 120 those economies to the level to that will allow them to have more 130 participation with NAFTA; and, 140 WHEREAS: To make the extension of NAFTA privileges a more efficient 150 process Argentina and Brazil should be the two nation-states 160 where trade increases should occur; and, 170 THEREFORE LET IT BE RESOLVED: That the Maryland Student Legislature 180 urges the Government of the United States of America to increase 190 trade with Argentina and Brazil, so that they may one day NAFTA 200 privileges may be extended to them. 210 MANDATES: President Bill Clinton 220 Senator Connie Mack 230 Congressman Jim Saxton David Stysley Western Maryland College 2 College Hill Westminster, MD. 21157
