10 			      A RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING THE 

20 			       MARYLAND GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND

30 			        ITS MEMBERS FOR A SUCCESSFUL 

40 				  1999 LEGISLATIVE SESSION



50	WHEREAS:	The Maryland General Assembly took on a number of difficult issues in  

60 			the 1999 session such as utility industry restructuring, collective 

70			bargaining, and charter school legislation; and,



80	WHEREAS:	The Senators and Delegates only have a short 90 days to complete all of 

90			the work for the people; and,



100	WHEREAS:	The Senators and Delegates serve as Acitizen legislators@ and must balance

110			career, family, and civic duty with their service to the people of Maryland;

120			and,



130	WHEREAS:	Each member and the body as a whole served the citizens of Maryland 

140			exceptionally well this session.



150	THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Maryland Student Legislature thanks and 

160			congratulates the General Assembly for their hard work and dedication in 

170			a successful 1999 session.
