10 A RESOLUTION CONCERNING 20 THE ALLOCATION OF FUNDS FOR A NEW BALTIMORE COURTHOUSE 30 WHEREAS: Baltimoreās downtown Mitchell Courthouse is an antiquated 40 building not up to par with modern courthouses; and, 50 WHEREAS: There are many courtrooms in the courthouse that are unsuitable to 60 conduct business; and, 70 WHEREAS: There are currently not enough courtrooms in the building to 80 conduct the courtās business; and, 90 WHEREAS: The shortage of courtrooms makes the system unable to give 100 suspected criminals a speedy trial; and, 110 WHEREAS: Those criminals have been released because the system has been 120 unable to deliver them a speedy trial. 130 THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Maryland Student legislature urges 140 the State of Maryland to allocate funds for a new modern 150 courthouse for the city of Baltimore. 160 MANDATES: Governor Parris N.
