10			A RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE COLLEGE
20				PARK COMMUNITY

30	WHEREAS:  	The University of Maryland, College Park, has been designated the flagship of
40 		        	all Maryland Colleges and Universities; and,

50	WHEREAS:  	It is incumbent for the State of Maryland that UMCP and the area of College
60			Park reflect this admirable distinction; and,

70	WHEREAS:  	In the immediate area of College Park around UMCP, there are few outlets and
80			facilities around to properly call this area an actual community; and,

90	WHEREAS:	Such necessities include: a grocery store, a clothing store, an auto parts store,
100			and a laundromat; and,

110	WHEREAS: 	Having these necessities within walking distance of UMCP would not only 
120			benefit UMCP students, but the surrounding College Park residents.

130	THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:  That the Maryland Student Legislature recognizes such 
140			provisions should be provided for the College Park Community by the State of
150			Maryland.
